I love old tools as they were usually made to last for one thing, and sometimes they were quite the innovation. The two that are on the left and right were named the Eifel Geared Plierench made by the American Plierench Corp. Chicago. They were special in the fact the moveable jaw was removable and you could change it to another style jaw for different purposes, or the longer jaws for more reach. They were designed in such a way that the gripping force was ten time the applied pressure on the handles. So if you applied 50# grip pressure to the handles you got 500# jaw pressure. The tool in the wooden box is called the X Tool made by the Currier Koeth Mfg Co. Coudersport, Pa. As You can see the jaws were interchangeable as well for different needs, or uses. These three tools were made in the late 1800's early 1900's. The chrome 707 Lockmatic locking pliers were made in the 30's and 40's by the Statite Corp. They don't have quite the clamping power like Visegrips, but they work real well. Hope you enjoy, and let me see your vintage tools.

I do love old tools but don't collect them. Old bomber fishing lures are my passion. Very specific fossils, Triassic/Jurassic. I also keep and collect several species of mole salamanders. I'm currently trying to purchase a trio of Tiger salamanders and a trio of Marbled salamanders.
Anybody have them in their area and interested, let me know.

I have one of those Eiffel plier wrenches top left, first pic, with a few different jaws...

It was my grandpa's, its one of my favorite most useful tools, I use it a lot...

Cool stuff!!!

<°)))>{

I have been in the trades ever since I was in the Navy, and THAT was a very long time ago, so tools both hand and stationary powered tools have been my life. The cool part is, as many tools that are on the market, there is going to be a time you need something totally special and you have to make it. In our shop we just called them a "knurdler", or a wangydangit. If they worked we would then pin a proper name on them, if they didn't we just called them trash.:laughing::laughing::laughing: The tools in the pics I posted I would call them Awesome! ;)

Neat !!!!

Reminded me of an old pair of tin snips I have that I still use, they used to be my dad's and I think they are likely over 50 years old.

My favorite old tool is my (dads) 1964 all aluminum Homelite chain saw, still going strong at 54 years old. Never been rebuilt!

My house was built in the late 1800's most of the planes used to make the moulding and trim are still here.

Really nice tools, they don't make em like that anymore. I'm sure it doesn't have a made in China stamp anywhere on them either.

Great! Old time great honest tools! A guy can sure appreciate your collection!

Channellok has been around since 1886. Made in Pennsylvania...so theres a few Co's left not importing...Only a few things a guy who works with his hands can trust in his Life...quality tools are one of them...

I've got an old brace and bits that were Dads, I'd like to restore/reline the box, clean-up the tools, and ..... well, don't know what after that :laughing:

Gauntlet that would be an awesome set to restore. It looks like it's just light surface rust, so oiled steel wool should do a bang up job cleaning it. I would like to see it when you get it done. Very cool.:cool::cool:

I love old tools but specifically stuff that has an edge and that I can refinish if that makes sense. I like to take stuff say in "barn find" condition and see what I can do with it. I love old axes, hatchets, and hand planes..here is some refinishes I did,..I look for stuff with figure in the wood,..tiger maple, curly hickory,.or ash usually,..what ever may have that stripy grain that I love.
