Hey everyone, found this relic last week hunting cellar holes. This particular site has had activity since the late 1600's. Its very heavy, just under 3 ounces. I feel its firearm related. Anybody have any ideas? Thanks!

From the looks of the way it was made I would say it is 1900’s. Possibly a handle lever of some kind, maybe to something punamtic?

Thanks for your input everyone, I'm going to get some better pictures up this afternoon. As you can see, there's also a "C" engraved on the side too. I think this site may be my best chance at early American silver, happy hunting!

It almost resembles a loading gate, but doesn't look like any I've ever seen. The pivot point would make it kind of strange too.
