Default Phone part or something else

I found this at a site that had houses that dated from early 1900's. Found this near the curb. Anyone know what this was a part of? I was thinking a phone.

I'd say you are right... found these photos in the replacement parts section of oldphoneworks for a Western Electric receiver element

Yup, a piezoelectric speaker essentially. It's too extensive for a watch, likely from an older phone, possibly a handset.
