Here's a pretty rare coin to cross off the bucket list... but this one is even rarer...a 1787 NJ copper that was made using a 1786 VT copper as a blank:shock:

JaMo whats yours?
I answered in the other post, but here is a copy/paste in this one. It definitely is the coolest thing I have ever found:

"Valuable" rare? Probably the intact (except for wooden hardware, of course) late 1800s single shot pistol I found in the mountains of Idaho.

I detect in the PNW but I entered a youtube contest and won a chance this past July to go to an old ghost mining town NE of Boise.

The pistol is the cover photo of my detecting fb page titled Tough Run Metal Detecting. Not to hijack this thread, but here is a link to it in case anyone wants to like and follow (any support is appreciated!):

Rarest is a $1 Trade token from Kansas. Only known example.

Two rarest coins I found this year. First, was an 1807 Draped Bust Half Cent (400,000 minted) and 1914D Wheat (1.2 million minted). I find it interesting that the older and rarer Half Cent is worth 1/3 the wheat cent.

To me, and I've found some rare birds...

Some fur trade era silver pieces, along with some points from the same water...

Our country's first money...
