Has anyone experienced ANY problems taking their MDs with them while commercially flying. The MD would be in the checked in baggage, not a carry on. Thanks in advance ..... Jan

Just got back from a flight

I took my detector (ace 250) and garret pro pointer with me in checked baggage. I did remove the batteries, I would hate for the thing to be beeping or vibrating and have my luggage taken apart.

Had no problems, other then detecting a beach at night and getting eaten alive by sand-fleas!

DON'T DO IT!!! I know people that had there baggage show up with no detector. Also, the Airline is not responsible for ANY electronics packed in luggage if damage, or if your bag goes missing. They will only cover cloths and toiletries. Also, get insurance on your detector. I have a "Sports Equipment" policy on mine that protects it from theft or damage.

I travel all over and take my MD as a carry on. I check my luggage with my digger and screw driver in it.
