Another quick hunt while my son was in his martial arts class. I went to a location that is offering up less and less each time I go, but I did pretty well this time! I got some nice brass scrap metal (this can earn me quite a bit, as I collect it over the year!), 36 cents in change, a very cool little buckle (does anyone have an idea on what this may have been used?), and a cool "Valor Oil" tag!

If all you're looking for is silver, then this place is basically done for you (though I'm not of the opinion that all of the silver has been sucked out of the ground, yet), but for someone who loves the occasional relic and scrap, this place is still a treasure trove! Unfortunately, there's someone that's been hitting it regularly, and leaving a LOT of holes behind...

That buckle is interesting, haven't seen one like that before.

And I agree on the scrap metal. It adds up eventually. Last week I was at an old house site and I came across a patch of ground which I believe may've been their old rubbish dump. Heaps and heaps of signals as expected, so I just used the pinpointer to make it easy. First target was a bit of copper pipe, and the second target a nice old buckle. Spent the next ten minutes digging up close to 7/8 pounds of copper and brass hoping for some more relics. Nothing interesting came up

I usually get about 25-50$ in brass/copper scrap a year. Not bad I guess, considering it was essentially free. Nice relics!

Thanks, all! I just love finding those little goodies hidden by dirt!
