Does anyone know which percussion caps was used in the CW the 4 tab or the 6 tab? I've heard the 4 tabs was reenactment stuff, and the 6 tabs are real?

I'm pretty sure both types of caps existed in the 1860's, you used what you were issued most probably, today the reenactment community prefers 4 wing to 6 wing caps due to 6 wing being more prone to break apart near your eye on occasion.

I think the stud looking peace is from a hand saw ,main locking point .most would have a mark on one side or both. I found one I could identify. If I remember right most are from Britain till mid 1800

Definitely percussion caps...probably CW. Item with long stem seems to be a brad of some sort...maybe to a leather item? Good finds though!
