A Different Kind Of “Spill”!

I was curb strip hunting this afternoon and found a most unusual “spill”.

Coin spills are always a welcome dig. It’s nice to get multiple rewards from just one hole.

But this was the most unusual multi target find I have ever experienced.

In front of a 1908 house I got a penny signal. Dig down and found a harmonica reed.

Very neat! I find these occasionally and they are a welcome find.

Rechecked the hole and there was another signal. Reached in and pulled out another. Well that was unexpected.

Rechecked again and the hole was not empty and a third left the ground. Strange.

One more time and Holey Moley! here came the fourth!!!

FOUR HARMONICA REEDS FROM ONE HOLE!

There were no more signals but I am unconvinced. There may be a whole orchestra down there!!

Haha that’s a pretty unique spill. Never found more than one at a time! I can’t figure out why you always find the reeds but never the metal outside parts. Maybe those are just regular steel and rust away disappearing with the wood?
