I am looking to get something a bit friendly on the East Coast Beaches. I currently use a F2 which is ok in the dry sand but useless near the water. I have been stuck on the Sand Shark v. AT Pro. Both machines are within my budget. I intend on working between the tide lines not much wading. Any feedback on which would serve me better? The AT Pro seems to be an all around upgrade. The Sand Shark seems to be a beach only machine. Need to stay under that $600 mark and these two seem to be the best choices?

The SS is a PI machine and the AT Pro is VLF. Two very different machines. The AT Pro will not work that well in the salt water of the Atlantic (I've tried many times).

I'd go with the SS if you only plan on hunting the beaches. Also note that if you have a lot of black sand or trash on the beaches, the SS will be a nightmare. Up here in NJ we have lots of black sand so using a PI machine isn't a great idea. I use an Excal for beach hunting.
Hope this helps!
