OK...gonna need help with bottlecaps. Most sounded great!

Used machine I just picked up.

Went to my trashy park where the 3030 has picked out some old coins. Lots of iron in this part of the park. Thought for sure I would find a few old coins....bottlecaps...tabs new and old and slaw. Most were shallow signals. Must be doing something wrong since I didn't notice any deeper signals.

Tips would be appreciated!

What settings were you running? After some time with Deus you can if a bottle cap almost 100% of the time.

Check out Gary’s videos on YouTube. Big help for Deus users.

As for others advice regarding a Nox you’ll have to decide whether all other detectors are obsolete. I’m sure it’s a fine machine, but felt like a brick when I compared it to my Deus. Too front heavy with that stock coil.

Good luck.

Ouch! Seriously I think he just needs to check them in a different freq, correct?

Yes if you create the identical program and save it in a slot with a higher frequency you can quick check the target. If the number stays the same it’s a BC

That's the biggest downfall of the Deus is it loves bottlecaps. It's a killer machine though, especially on mid tones. The deep targets may not even register a vdi or depth....just a scratchy tone.

Now, I recommended folks new to Deus, to get some bottlecaps.
Sweep comparing using the different freqs keying on 4khz, with VDI normalization off, and see how the caps compares (VDI wise) to say 12khz and 18 kHz when sweeping.
Folks should see a pattern develop.

Foolish advice, keep the Deus, its one of the best high end detectors. Get to know it. I have made many great finds with mine. NOX is good too, I have one, but wouldnt sell a Deus to buy a NOX.

I Love the Deus don’t get me wrong but I know Rob and transitioning from Minelab language to Deus language is different. I’ve owned a Deus for a good 6 years and been a Minelab guy even longer. I can walk a person through a Nox in a day and you will get it, Deus not so much. His hunting season and my season are short seasons. I want a machine that I can turn in and make a few adjustments as you go. Simplicity is the key for me and you can’t tell me the Deus is easier language then that Nox that’s a fact. Would I still own a Deus...yup but took me a good year to really get it. Bootcamp, the book, time with Andy Sabisch...etc.

Looks like I'm gonna dig more, find more, and my back is gonna hate me.
