Which rock tumbler to get?

I Love cleaning clad, Its a blast!

I throw my coins in a jar with walnut shells a little dish soap (very little) little water screw the lid down tight and strap it down in engine bay of my Jeep TJ and go wheelin!!! NO KIDDING!! Works Great!!

Harbor Freight has a wide range that if you time the purchase can get on from about $21 to $100. Harbor Freight also has gloves, knee pads, batteries, magnifying glasses, and lots of other useful ancillary tools fairly inexpensive when bought on sale.

And last but not least, they carry a hand held pinpointer.

When the clothes are in it you can hardly hear the coins. Never run more then 20 coins at a time.

works for me

20 at a time?
Here is just one container of a few cents....I'd better get cracking.

I like the Lortone 33B, although it's not the cheapest. https://www.homesciencetools.com/lortone-33b-double-barrel-rock-tumbler

If $$'s are an issue, I understand that Harbor Freight has some decent units....and yes, there are lot's of things you can use the tumbler for, other than cleaning clad....

Either way, I would suggest a two barrel tumbler. You need to tumble the coppers separate from the other coins, so with two barrels, you can do both at the same time. Just saying !
Why do you separate the copper ?

I'm also on the hunt for a tumbler.

I'll either go with the Harbor Freight one, or maybe hit a few rummage sales for a used vibratory tumbler from someone who is out of the ammo reloading game.

Several people here have mentioned Harbor Freight. So if you ever need a coupon, you can usually get one from the Harbor Freight Coupon Database -

http://www.hfqpdb.com/

Basically people take pictures of coupons (of wildly varying levels of quality) and send them in. You just hit PRINT and take them to the store. They don't care - they'll accept anything as long as the little bar code scanner gun can read it.

With a 25% coupon the $59 double tumbler is only $45.

BTW, has anyone ever used the resin tumbling media from HF?

It seemed like it might be a little gentler on coins than gravel.

I'll let you know how the media works, I ordered it a few days ago.
