If you were hunting for a large cache AND was pretty sure of it's location, you might want to invest in a sonar detector. Certainly not a hobby detecting device. They make most high end metal detectors look cheap. I am still waiting for a detector that will tell you if a coin is heads or tails before digging. :lol:

I agree. It is the trill of the hunt and not knowing what you will dig up next that is the fun of the hobby.
