I know this isn't a metal detecting find story, but I figured some would enjoy.

My husband took our son, who is very passionate about finding history, back out to the riverbank over the weekend to find more bottles and anything else old. He found more than what is pictured, but these are the ones that had writing on them that we could research.

1st picture: Pat'd July-20-1920 Orange Crush Co. Bottle
Bottom says: H.H. McCoy Co; Our City and State

2nd: Groves Tasteless Chill Tonic Prepared By Paris Medicine Co. St. Louis.

3rd: McCormick & Co. Balto Patented July 8, 1902

4th: Sauer's Extracts

Very nice find. It's good to see some old bottles that are complete and hole not broken and not shot the pieces. Congratulations!

Bottles

I think there better than a lot of coins. There much older than the average coin we detect these days, even the silver ones. Well, I have dug a little over half dozen coins older than those bottles, but I've been doing this over five years now. Those bottle are totally cool. It's fun finding anything old.
HH everyone
