The 38th Annual HARC Open Beach Hunt will be Saturday, February 29th, 2020 at East Beach / Apffel Park, in Galveston, Texas. Again this year we will do the event in partnership with the Texas Association of Metal Detecting Clubs (TAMDC). During this fun filled day there will be 5 hunts. In addition to the hunts both HARC and TAMDC will run raffles.

Schedule

8:30 9:00 Silver dimes hunt
9:30 10:00 Silver quarters hunt
10:30 11:30 TAMDC Hunt (separate form & fee)
11:30 12:30 Lunch
12:30 1:00 FREE Kids Hunt (12 and under)

The hunt goes on rain or shine. For the HARC hunts, 100% of the hunt fee goes back into the ground as silver coins or tokens.
The tokens are redeemable for prizes which include metal detectors, gold coins, silver dollars, silver rounds, pin pointers, and other metal detecting or coin related prizes.
Last year with 94 hunt entries, HARC planted or gave as prizes about 6000 silver coins. There were 110 token prizes that included 2 gold coins, 10 metal detectors, and 6 pin pointers.
Prizes for the HARC raffle will be: Garrett AT Max, 1/10 oz. gold coin, gold 2 pesos, and silver dollars

See attached registration flyer for more details about the hunt and how to sign up.

The weather forecast this coming Saturday for the Galveston Open Hunt is looking spectacular - Sunny, low 63 high 70. There will be plenty of parking. There are portable toilets on site.
Bring a cooler with drinks and a lawn chair. Restaurants are several miles away, with only an hour for lunch, you might want to bring snacks and picnic lunch.
If you want to sign up for the hunts Saturday morning, HARC does not take credit cards, cash or check only.
If you also want to do the TAMDC hunt, you can come to the HARC table and join ($20 year). HARC membership gives you TAMDC membership and lots other benefits.
Registration starts at 7 AM Saturday morning.
