Why doesn’t it come with a charging adapter. Doesn’t seem like it would cost that much more for them to add one. Or is it just because everyone has a smartphone just about.

It is sold world wide .. The usb plug is world wide ... Not the charging adapter Wall plug in

Oh I see they do have different voltage across the pond that’s probably why.
"In the UK and Australia the nominal supply voltage is 230 V +10%/−6% to accommodate the fact that most transformers are in fact still set to 240 V."
My house is 240 volts yet the wall plugs on various units range from 230V-260v.
