Default Plugger's vs Anderson CF Equinox Shaft

Howdy All,

I'm about ready to order a CF shaft for the Equinox to replace the limp noodle it came with stock.

Seems like every post I see about CF shafts only mentions Anderson, yet for other detector brands the Plugger's shaft is almost unanimously praised over the Anderson for long term quality/durability. Looks like the Plugger's shaft lock is much better also, especially if one is going to get in the water.

Anyone compared them both? Thanks.

I have the Anderson for my Nox and had pluggers shafts for my Excal and I will tell ya I really like the shaft lock on the Plugger but very happy with my Anderson. All comes down to price and preference at that point

Thanks Mike. At $50 cheaper I think I'll go with the Pluggers. Just curious, Anderson doesn't list specs like legnth on their rod, that's super important because I'm 6'4". Would you mind measuring yours?

Thanks for the info. Ended up ordering the Plugger's, price was the deciding factor really. If both were priced the same i would have flipped a coin, lol.

Yep, thats what Im getting. Plugger owner was detailed, had me send him measurements. Was more than willing to drill custom holes, customize the size, etc. so far impressed.

Thumbs up Yes

Been dealing with him a long time, he will custom, i also asked him about adjustments , 3 on the cuff, 3 on the handle, nice, i got the one piece there won't be any wobble , a lot cheaper than Anderson , most likely dealing with him -they will be better , also for all the rest of the 800 owner's , he has them in stock, however he will email me back with a time on when he has the 600 CF material in, as he said the 600 rod is bigger, i guess he meant the lower rod that you use off your stock shaft ,in the application , Chris i checked his web site about 3 weeks ago, nothing listed , thank's to your thread , he now make's them , thank's Earl Ps as a good member should, i am looking out for the 600 owner's also , happy hunting.

Thumbs up Recieved Plugger 36 inch CF rod today

I am 6 ft 3 plenty Rod, i did a short review in the water forum , happy once again, no wobble- better lock joint , balanced- 1 1/2 inches more over the stock 34 1/2 stock, was able to lower the head to the last out of 3 adjustment holes - for a better balanced detector, the head trued up tighter than stock as the stock after use the nuts came loose , Plugger 5 stars , happy hunting Earl http://rodsbyplugger.com/
