Is this a civil war era cannonball?

Was out hunting this afternoon. Found a few coins, a couple of them wheaties. Then found this thing. It is very heavy and a magnet doesn't stick to it so I think it is lead. Here in Middle Tennessee you never know where civil war era stuff will turn up.

What do you think??

What's the diameter of it? I've not come across any solid lead cannon ball in any books or online. Also never seen one with numbers stamped on it.

**Is there evidence of a brass loop up top? Googling "lead 2lb ball" found similar looking large fishing weights. Same font, mold lines, etc.

I don’t see anywhere for a brass connection, but it does resemble those fishing weights.

It has a 2 stamp in it - Not a cannonball.

Is this a civil war era cannonball?
