One that I like that's not directed to detecting is a coin-value app called "Coin Price". It has listings for US coins and values by date and condition. It's not updated daily, or anything, but it does give you a quick estimate for the values of your coin finds.

I like the idea of recording finds and places, but I think that when out hunting for things, hands covered in dirt, I probably would rather reach for a pencil and pad than pull out a smartphone. Plus, the apps I have seen look like ****, but I'm an app developer myself so I have high standards in that area.

just looked find plotter is not free they want $1.08 but it looks like a good app

I don't want to waste my time while I'm out detecting to stop and mess with my phone for 5 minutes everytime I find something. When I get home and at my leasure I downloaded the "I Detect" program and log everything on it. great piece of software

Might try diglogs.com. Its free and is used to log finds. I am still developing it, but its up and running now.
