Thought for sure this place was done. Went back after they cut the beans and now like a brand new hunt . . .
Not sure what the pieces are in the last pictures. Words say "Lift this side". Bullet is from same hole but only for size reference. I can't imagine how they could be together.

The field that keeps on giving.....

Nice job on recovering those relics. Do you have an approximate age of these finds?

The site is a civil war battlefield. The particular area in the field gives up civil war to about 1920 relics. No history of a house or any buildings around but I have found model T car parts and bullets in with old broken glass. Wondering if people dumped stuff in an old trench line. Best I can tell modern farming started on it about 1950's. I have not tried to date the silverware yet.

Anyone have an idea of what the "C" looking thing is?
