I live in Minnesota and to find a coin that dates before the Civil War is exciting. Maybe for all you guys who live out east, this may not seem so special. I would love to find the coins you all find, but this made me happy.
I was detecting on an old farm site and a few minutes in I got this 1860 Fatty. Sadley, I clipped it with my blade. Found out from the land owner that the farm was homesteaded by a Civil War vet who spent most of the war in Andesonville. That story just makes this coin more interesting for me. Thanks for reading.

Yup. The east coast guys are bored to tears with anything that post-dates 1860. They only perk up when they're finding LC's, colonial coppers, reales, etc...... :sissyfight:
