I came across an article in the February,1943 issue of popular science about the making of nickels. It is about 5 pages long with lots of pictures and covers the whole process. It explains the new alloy formula. The article begins on page 84, I know it is possible to look up and read.

Funny I just dug a 1943s war nickel today. They are always fun to find.
I had to make room so I gave away about 95% of my popular science type of magazines. There were none newer than the 1950s and were very interesting reading. I had about 300 of them but they went to a good home. I will probably get some more as time goes by and will watch for related articles.
