Is this a real coin?

I found this piece yesterday. I couldn’t make out what it was on the beach. It had a lot of sand stuck to it. Upon further inspection, it looks like a silver coin. I’ve never found one and don’t know if it is real or a replica. I found fake pirate coins on Amazon that look similar.

I tried to clean it up and am not having much luck. Filing it in the fun junk finds box until further notice.

I recently found this Spanish cob. The crown and III below it identifies it as a maravedis during the reign of Felipe III (1598-1623). I placed it on a number of coin sites to confirm the authenticity. Hopefully yours is too!
