Hunting the River

Never did find that ordinance. I would be very cautious in our lovely river, though. A friends daughter fell out of a canoe a few years back and contracted a flesh eating bacteria. Was nasty!

I think your saying all this stuff because you want to dig it yourself lol

all navatagble rivers are governed by the army corps of engineers.
the key word is navatagble even if it cuts through private property.
the land owner cant do squat if you are on the river.
a lot of small streams that you cant navagate might still be listed by the corps as being in this catagory due to the fact that when initially surveyed said streams fell in that class.
the corps does not have the resources to continually update all waterways so i would check with them.

Are you sure the river is state property? I recall reading or hearing once that all rivers in the country are actually controlled and regulated by the Army Corp of Engineers who do operate all the locks and dams in the US. Their authority might just be locks/dams/navigation.

Regardless, I doubt they would care.

You are correct sir. Corps Of Engineers. martin

that would be such a great opportunity! dried up riverbed. Never know what kind of stuff people have lost/dropped in there...I'd bring a shovel as well as my MD gear
