Cost close to the CTX 3030 and only 30 positive target ID segments? I don't care for that concept but who knows.

I do like the idea of "not quite VLF & not quite PI".

You know me, I'm a lazy hunter. I want to know what it is before I recover it LOL. 30 ID segments would be about like the AT Pro as far as target ID accuracy. But hey the AT Pro was my favorite for quite some time.

It doesnt sound like its meant for park hunting. Its obviously purpose-designed for surf hunting where you really dont care about TID, its a dig/no-dig situation.

Send me one!..I'll give it a lash this Winter!...especially liked the 'hydrodynamic coil design' mention...theres room to work with here, and I will work it!

..Will the thing hit lets say a 12gr 10k or 14k gold 6mm Figaro style chain in the black sand at six? ...if not I aint interested...If so I am! The money is in the missed chains!....Not a one of us or our gear will ever miss a ring...We are so tightly dialed in....Its the chains we need to hear to make the Season!

Little 2gr 10k rings at 12" wont do it! Else a guy might as well be slamming totlot clad with a Harbor Freight or Tractor Supply introductory rig .....A water gold hunter guy needs to be hitting Gold chains....Can this new rig hit Gold chains I axe you?

I am amazed at the responses of people with a total absence of facts or knowledge. This may not make every other detector obsolete, but it IS a unique development in overcoming a problem that has created a significant challenge to detecting in salt and high mineralization. It promises to allow the best experience in saltwater detecting (my assertion not necessarily theirs). It is a first unit to be offered (soon) with this tech. Will it be improved upon? Certainly. Does it work? Yup! Is it for everyone? Nope. Do I know what I am talking about? Yup! I first met the man and his detector a year ago. My CTX and Excal were not able to match it's performance on my home beach. I've had about 5 hours face time with him in the last month. I've had several hours with the detector in hand hunting the beach. I have hunted this beach many times a week for 7 years. I have used PIs, and vlfs of nearly every type on this beach. I have no doubt that this is the next step in a specific direction in detector tech.
I think when people see how this is done it will spawn further refining. Look at how Minelab has evolved it's multi-frequency lines and produced the Equinox 800/600 of today (while the Excalibur line is little changed - 3 basic iterations?). Change is inevitable. It's always mixed, some good, some not so much. I say this is good, but time will be the judge. It's fine to be a skeptic, trust me I am one. I am still haunted by the memory of working computer sales in the 80s and saying "You don't need to upgrade that 300 baud modem, the internet will NEVER be that big a deal..."

Lots of opinions - not all equally supported by experience or data.

PT - you hang in there. Clearly this new machine has brought something new to - at least - the beach. As it becomes a product, we shall all have a chance to compare it to the alternatives.

Thanks

Yes, Rick, several users and many locations needed to get a real comprehensive idea of just how much the features will help us see more finds. It's early in the game, but I really see great potential. I have been trusted with a demo unit as was my hunting buddy. We have only been instructed to speak truthfully our thoughts- no obligation. A quick trip to the hunted out park I've been plundering with my Equinox, resulted in more bullets and junk jewelry than with the 'nox. Of course one hunt is not very meaningful, but it does say it will hunt in dirt too.
