I'm beginning to think you have a US Navy button. On page 88 in Albert's book, there is a cuff (17C), that matches yours pretty well.

Thanks Duggap! Those links are extremely helpful. I did look at at that Button in Alberts book and it sure looks similar (actually very close) but I think the rope on the button I found near the bottom of the anchor is closer to the bill/fluke. Using the link here’s a screen shot of the Royal Navy Rev buttons that look similar. I’d like to believe it’s a British Button from the Revolutuonary war but I’m one of those that’s like ‘no way - can’t be’. I need proof! Haha. What do you guys think?
