Great historical map site

I was looking at a 1858 map of my area for home sites and located an old home close to me I have been wanting to detect. It seems it was a hotel in 1858 so it was well worth the effort to check the site out.

One of my most used sites. It led me to a site where a toll house used to stand, at the end of a bridge that crosses a shallow river...not too far from where I live. The bridge, still standing, is an old grate bridge.

Guess what I'm going to be doing this summer. ;)

Here is another site.

You can download the maps for free, I suggest the GeoPDF format, then take them to a Staples or similar Print shop and have them printed full size.

I have maps from 1895 and most current, that way I can locate abandoned home sites and roads that don't show up on current maps.

I hope you find this helpful.
