hello everyone, new to the forums. was wondering if anyone knows where to get the female headphone panel jack for the 505. mine snapped off. been searching for one and no luck. has anyone replaced one of those? and if so will a generic one work? the factory jack has 4 leads on it and one of them is jumped to the ground. will a generic three lead work on that or do i need a 4 lead? any help appreciated. Thanks!

No doubt it can be replaced with something aftermarket. Id have to see it but Im sure there is something at mouser electronics that will fit the bill. You got a pic of it taken apart?

yes , i attached some pics, looks to be a standard opening on the panel maybe 3/8" . The part that is confusing me is the jack has 4 posts, and the blue wire is jumped to one of the posts, probably a ground. most of the replacement jacks i've seen only have 3 posts, don't know if it matters. did search on the numbers on it , but nothing came up. Thanks

If I recall, doesnt it have an on board speaker. I know with most machines, the speaker will cut out when plugging into the jack. So it might be for muting the speaker when plugged in.

Either way, I would contact Mouser Electronics. I bet they can help narrow down your search. I did a quick search and they have many there that may fit the bill for you.
