Show me your injuns

First and only IHP. Only about 3 inches down. My oldest dug coin by far. Just started metal detecting.....I found this IHP but haven't even found a wheat penny yet so I feel very lucky.

Still have some work to do to safely clean it up......out of the ground couldn't even read the date. In natural sunlight the green really shows while in artificial light it is dark almost black.

That's kind of like when I got a birdie on the golf course before ever scoring a par! :laughbounce:

Nice find.

Another nice one today!

Twinjuns

Today I coined the term "twinjuns" for two injuns with the same date on the same hunt.:D
Numbers 17 and 18 for the year

Wow, TundraPlugger that 1856 and 1902 are some real detailed beauties! You've nearly wiped out a tribe.

No Pictures from me, just a story. I used to coinroll hunt pennies and keep the copper pennies since they're worth more than face value. I found hundreds of wheaties, some very old wheaties. I found hundreds of canadian pennies. I even found a dime here and there. I never found an indian head penny, and I literally hunted through thousands of dollars of penny rolls. I have $580 worth of copper pennies just to give you an idea of how much.

I did find one indian head penny though, on the ground outside of a sheetz gas station. Lol.

Anyway, now that I'm part of this hobby I hope to find many more.

That's funny, my son and I used to do the same thing in winters.
We found hundreds of wheats and were lucky enough to find one injun:D
