Found this at an old abandoned schoolhouse. It's about 1 1/2" diameter with 6 petals to make a kinda crown shape. I'm thinking it might be a part of an oil lamp or candleabra? Let me know what you think, It was pretty deep and very corroded when I dug it... electrolysis cleaned it up very nice.

Hi Beefcake !

My guess is it came off of an ornamental iron fence. I recently saw such an
item on a piece of ornamental iron work. It was about the same diameter and also had petals.

Perhaps another search would yield more iron fence parts.

Good Luck !

I found it at an old farm country schoolhouse (little house on the prairie style). I doubt there were any fancy fences around. It's made out of copper, but is quite heavy (dense), I don't a christmas bulb would last long around it... thanks for the suggestions though...
