I just got this and when I shake it I don't hear a rattle but it sets off the signal. I was wondering if maybe I took it apart maybe I could determin the problem. I seen in another post where someone took a White's coil apart and shimmed it up. Anyone else have an opinion. :?: Thanks.

That's exactly what you need to do. You need to get a new sharp razor and cut the two halves apart and shim with polyfoam, Its like styrafoam but plyable. Then use a PVC glue to glue the two halves back together.
You can also buy a new coil but it`s not hard to fix what you have.

Good Luck.

Thank you. Now when I wiggle the connection to the machine it does the same thing also, so maybe I have another problem

By the way there is a vido on utube on how to repair the coil. I think its not a garretts but its the same procedure. If I recall its a sunray coil.
I would just type in coil repair and see.
Good Luck.
