Hi everyone, we wish to purchase a good (the Best) pin pointer. There are so many on the market that we can't decide on which to buy. Lets not forget that we have a Tesoro Cibola and we think that sunray probes will be useless. No problem for the price. Thanks :)

Since Sunray doesn't appear to have a probe for the Tesoro, what about the Treasure Mate? I believe it is manufactured by Tesoro for Treasure West and from the reviews it sounds like a great pinpointer. On the site it states that it has a limited lifetime warranty. Its limited because the vibrator motor and speaker have a limit to their life and a cost of $9.95 will cover their replacement. It's around the same price as a Sunray probe from what I've seen.

I bought a Sunray DX-1 and realized I had the same problem that someone else had on a different forum where it wouldn't balance out and the monitor on my DFX kept jumping around and they were told to send it back for a repair. So I thought I could do the same, bad mistake, I called Sunray to see if they received it and they told me NO. Also they told me I needed to get a return approval through them before I sent it back and that I should insure it.
Well its been over a month and still no sign of my DX-1. They told me they would call IF it arrived. Well I guess I took a loss on that one. I think next time I would stick with a pinpointer that is totally seperate and that works on its own, own battery etc. When you have to hook something else up to make something work, your bound to have problems...
Good Luck on your decision. Now I wish I would have gotten a FREE White's Pinpointer with my DFX!!!

I reccomend the Vibraprobe. They are well made , water resistant /waterproof and work great.
Hey BOB... how did you send your probe back to Sunray? I can talk to Ralph for you if you like.
Let me know .

Make one HEM. convert a screwfinder. All you need is:

The doner s/finder,
A suitable tube, with end ( mines off a pocket corkscrew )for the ferrite rod.
A junior hacksaw.
Araldite/hot glue gun.

Dead easy to make, just as good, low low cost .

Mines helped me loads of times, that silver hammy in my avitar is only 14mm in diameter and real thin, pinpointed it in seconds no problem.

I will second the Vibra-Probe 560. Very well made and will take some abuse. No switch's to break and waterproof.

YEP why I have not thought of it at 1st : Making your own pinpointer....
Thanks a lot chopz54 . I think that the workshop will be very busy in the coming days ... ( I will add to the list = 4 beers, snack and lots of fun :) I've already contacted my buddies, they want to start it now<a href="http://plugin.smileycentral.com/http%253A%252F%252Fwww.smileycentral.com%252F%253Fpartner%253DZSzeb008%255FZNxdm119YYMU%2526i%253D23%252F23%255F30%255F104%2526feat%253Dprof/page.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/23/23_30_104.gif" alt="SmileyCentral.com" border="0"><img border="0" src="http://plugin.smileycentral.com/http%253A%252F%252Fimgfarm%252Ecom%252Fimages%252Fnocache%252Ftr%252Ffw%252Fsmiley%252Fsocial%252Egif%253Fi%253D23%252F23_30_104/image.gif"></a> .
