My name is Ryan, I"m 26 and live in a small town in Southwest Virginia.

I enjoy spending time in the great outdoors, so naturally, detecting sparks my interests.

I'm completely green to the sport and know very little (if anything) about where to begin.

Feel free to offer up suggestions of any resources you think would be helpful to a newb. I'll be sure to ask questions when I have them.

I stayed in Bristol Saturday night on the way home from Pigeon Forge, TN. A lot of Nice Old, Old places up that way that need to be fixed up (And detected).

Welcome ryan to the forum glad to have you with us . Should be alot of history up your way . Ace 250 or fisher F2 would both be good ones to start with . Both run in the 200 dollar range and are real nice machines for the price , you can go to review section and read the reviews on them and some other brands also .
