A curb strip that I just started hunting last week,
Where I found 2 wheats from the 40s
And a hupmobile logo
So dirt detective clues are showing some age to this curb strip....
I went back Saturday evening
Prepared with mosquito spray after getting some much needed rain last Friday.
My first good signal about, solid 12:44 that also jumped between 5 & 8 inches deep. The plug had a 45 merc on the tip,
Rescanning the hole & removing a few more inches of dirt in the bottom laid a 1910 barber dime!
Awesome! For my 1st target of the evening....
Continued along the curb I pluck 3 more wheats, a dog tag, a small key, a small padolock, (they don't mesh)
A small token or a button? I think?
It says GUITERMAN ST. PAUL
As the evening daylight was fading, I got one big loud signal
5 to 6 inches deep a big red blob on the CTX ringing in at a 12:47
Thinking a half or a quarter spill???
Peering down the hole using my pin pointer as a flashlight , stuck upside down, I saw something I dug last year....
A brass bell!
It took some effort and wiggles to get it out.
I did my first Facebook live video as I pulled it out of the hole [emoji41] I need some video editor lessons [emoji16]
But can't load it here for some reason?
Thanks for looking.

Awesome digs!!! I gotta keep doing this too.

About 4-5 months ago I pulled out a '60 Rosie and a couple of wheats right in front of a 1920's building. I should keep working these sidewalks. No reason for not doing it other than side tracked into other areas.

Nice work. Great finds !!! Love that bell :)
I like your positive thinking thinking it was a quarter spill.
I'm a bit more pessimistic. I would have been thinking, "smashed Sprite can". :p

When you hunt curb strips or devil strips like my grandmother called them, don't the folks that live behind them and take care of the grass covering them freak out when you start digging?
