Not sure if anyone from that publication frequents this forum, but I wanted to give them a big thank you. Upon subscribing to they're magazine they automatically entered me into there Subscriber Appreciation Sweepstakes. Low and behold I recieved a call from them telling me I won. http://www.treasurenet.com/westeast/ Here I didn't even know I subscribed as I was only looking for the magazine.
I can count the number of times I have won anything on one hand, I am not really a lucky individual, in that sense.
Again Thank You Western & Eastern Treasure.
Wanted to make the new forum members aware of the great public service we receive in this hobby!

Nice. I wanted to order online but refuse to since they aren't using any secure site for entering your payment info.
No https:
I ended up backing out before entering credit card.
People are completely unprotected when entering their credit card info on their website.
Very surprising they would do that.
Can't figure for the life of me why they don't use any secure software.

Well I emailed them about it and they assure me it's secure. I still won't do it if I don't see https: in the web address.
Guess I'll just call them tomorrow to subscribe.

If you don't see "https:" in the URL, they can't really assure you that it's secure. Their building may be secure, and they may not have any wireless that can be sniffed there, but how about your end? How about at your ISP's place?

I work with e-commerce merchants for a living.

No HTTPS = NOT SAFE TO ENTER YOUR INFO.

Give it to them by phone, but not on an unsecure page. You never know WHO has hacked it with keystroke logging software to get YOUR number.

Sad thing is that it is the MERCHANT that pays for fraud. All your credit cards with VISA/MC/DISC/AMEX have ZERO fraud liability if your numbers get stolen and used.

The merchants that don't do their homework and spot the fraudulent orders are the ones that get hurt the most. The are out the goods AND the money.

For the card holder, its just a minor hassle. Even if they clean out your bank from your debit card, if it's fraud, the bank HAS to put it all back in the form of a conditional credit.

achaios and HighCap56, Yep exactly why I won't do anything when I don't see https:
Really really surprised me that they don't being they're a fairly large business.
Bet some people don't even think to look for the https
