Certainly not "solid brass" as mentioned in the ad, since solid brass doesn't turn into what I have in 40 years or less.
Oh well, not old, but I still like it and had fun researching it.
It's a good thing that I am not a gambler. I would have lost money betting that this was 18th century. Glad that you found an ID on it.
