Major bling! 14K ring with 60 diamonds!

Hadn't been beach hunting in the longest time. Finally got it going around 2 weeks ago. Had Thur / Fri off so I was able to hit low tide on the south AND north shore. Picked up a 14K ring last night with 60 diamonds... sure looked like the real deal. The pics don't do it justice. This afternoon I took it to a jewelry store where a friend of mine works. The diamonds tested positive; estimated total is 1.2 carats. A guestimate on the value is at least $1,000. My wife is VERY happy :) It's getting sized.

There's also some pics of a couple of rings I've found in the last 2 weeks or so. The two silvers were dug in the dirt...

:)

Bling!!

Very nice bling! Like the way you displayed it, I gotta get better with my camera!:( Where you hunt at, you mentioned north and south shore? No need to get "too" specific as to the location. :D

I'm on Long Island... hunted the lows on the north shore in the am and the lows that afternoon on the south shore. I did a lot of driving (but it was worth it :) )

WTG Joe !!!!!!!! Where ya been hiding ???? What are you using for a water machine these days? My Excal Eater project has been canceled due to the UW housings being no longer available from Charles. Give me a shout.

 I wasn't hiding... just been very busy at work, gone back to night school at the age of 52 and then there's life in general. Been digging dirt mostly and only recently gotten back to the beach. As far as a water machine is concerned I tried hunting "the mine" at the beach once so far with the CZ20 but I don't like getting beat up by the waves and I'm not a good swimmer :) Not worth it. I've been using the Exp II with the X-12. VERY noisy but it works if I go very slow. I'm getting some incredible depth with it and it's still picking up pretty deep, very small pieces of can slaw so I'm not worried about sensitivity. I know you'll laugh but I've been running the sensitivity at 28 to 30, threshold 0 to 3, deep on, fast off, audio 3. I have to keep the coil just above the wet sand. The x-12 does not like to touch the sand or the water. Just got back with another gold ring (missing stones but gold all the same)

No Excal Eater??? Geez, I hope you waited to take it apart until you had all the parts  One more year on my warranty and I might give that a shot.

Thanks Steve! Good to be back :)

Very nice ring Joe... I know what you mean by not having time to detect... I have been lucky to get out once a month and nothing in the early spring... been busy with the wife and work and now fixing up a home so I can sell it and build in another town close by.
