Not sure what the type or age of this buckle is. I found it in a field that has history from the 1600’s (Mainly French and Spanish) on up. Including war of 1812 and civil war relics. The crud on this buckle is very hardened and I’ve been picking at it for days to get it where it’s at now. I’m the farthest thing from a buckle expert so I’m not sure if the buckle is even whole or very old and if I had to guess I would say the material is pewter. Would like to hear some opinions or facts about this find. Thanks very much!
