The silver item is a cover for the tailpiece of a banjo or mandolin.

I think the Bob Cat pin dates to the late '30's to the early '40's. Nice find!

That’s a cool silver piece. Congrats! Also like the bobcat pin - I found one similar like it last year. I bet yours is older, looks nicer anyway.

Thanks for the help guys. It is always fun to post things here for some SMART people to help ID our finds. The silver thing sure had me at a loss, it is not stamped but you can tell it is silver, Thanks

I'll be very surprised if it is actually silver. Those are usually chromed.

On mandolins they're chromed brass.
