The Professional Treasure Hunters Historical Society tries with others to organize an annual BONE weekend and raisie money for St Jude Children’s Research Hospital & the U.S. Wounded Warrior Project with a national fund raiser and cover charges to BONE events. So far we have been lucky. The biggest income was once and again is our national raffle. This has happened thanks to Minelab Americas with their generous donation of the first prize. This year, 2013 first prize is choice of either a Minelab E-Trac metal detector, an Excalibur II underwater metal detector or $1,000 & 2nd prize is $100. Raffle tickets are $10 each and less then 400 will be sold.

Raffle tickets may be purchased with a donation from members or contact BONE via Streeters and a volunteer will contact you to take care of your wishes.

April 25 & 26, 2013 Thursday & Friday Natural Hunts, $35 each to April 1, & then $45

Natural Hunt sites have no toilets & you must bring your own everything. Sites have not been determined as yet. We are looking for new sites for each day. .Once registered , a volunteer will sent a receipt, tickets and later on a map with instructions for hunts. We were thinking of meeting around 9:30am at hunt site for registration & group picture. Hunt master .for hunts is Brian Thomas and when possible assisted by Logan Thomas, Jack Frost, .John Quist or Joe Goetz. Presently No supper is planned for Thursday April 25. We suggest if you like Chinese & sushi, to try Lee & Mt Fuji, on N.H. Rte 101, across from Streeters in Marlborough, NH.

April 26 Friday's natural hunt will be sponsored by Minelab, how ever we must do the work. We have 2 sites with great possibilities, however no guarantees. Trophies for best finds and donated prizes from Minelab. The hunt master Brian Thomas still needs assistance. On this forum Brian is Tin Pan Man and one of his helpers is his son Logan. When 12 Logan and Dad purchased a Garrett Ace detector and have had years of fun and excitement since. Each uses a Minelab now (a XT 50 & E trac) . So Streeter can work on BONE, Logan works at Streeters on Fridays and Saturdays. BONE is only a few with big ideas and it needs volunteer help and new or more leaders to make it happen. Our former treasurer David Gailladetz is in Genesis Nursing home on Court St in Keene and our new one is ailing & in love. BONE need help several places. Fortunately we have new member Jack Frost and Logan to help. You could make our load less heavy with ideas and what ever you suggest. We will take help from most anyone.

never did an organized group hunt like this but is this one of those things where everyone there uses Minelabs, can you head off into your own section with whatever brand machine you use-- just wondering what the atmosphere is like?

You all hunt the same sectioned off area and you can use whatever machine you like. They may or may not have a rule about pulse machines or coil sizes.

Hunt guidelines (from Streeter's site)

no pulse metal detectors
hunters must wear headphones
no search coils wider then 12"
no Army shovels
holes must be filled neatly and trash taken.
only one person per metal detector
Tokens made of many metals (for the seated hunts)
