SEKS, I believe you may have a very historical item from Montana. Back in the 1880s, Marcus Daly the Copper King created a smelter and the town of Anaconda. Helena was the capital at that time, but Daly wanted to move the capital to the new city of Anaconda. Presumably, Daly thought Anaconda would be the largest and most important city in Montana and his ego and power over the state should be enough to make this happen! Well, his endeavor failed after a lively campaign. I'm thinking this is a lapel pin for Dalys lobbyists. Yes, lobbyists have been around for centuries! Excellent find!
