Received My Equinox 6-Inch Search Coil Today

Ordinarily a small coil will give certain advantages over a larger coil, but the Equinox with 11" coil just seems to buck this trend, I'm just not sure what advantage there would be in a coil between the 6"-11"

Six inch coil strengths over the 11” for coin hunting.
Sites with modern trash and bigger shallower iron.

In actual nails you won’t get the advantage over the 11” coil one typically does when using different sized coils on other detectors.

Six inch coil for its size is a Deep Azz coil on nickels and gold rings.

Thats been my experience as well. The little coil is GREAT for picking out keepers in sites with lots of modern trash.

The stock 11" coil ain't too shabby either, but the 6" coil gets in there like a laser beam. Other benefits are weight savings and extremely easy to pinpoint.
