My pumpkin patch was finally chosen by the Great Pumpkin, and.....
Wait, wrong story.
Scored my first gold ring today, in the surf of a Hawaiian beach:
The beach is so clean that I dig almost every target, both to verify my target ID and to practice recovery, because I'm still pretty new at this.
I knew it was a good target, but thought it was going to be a quarter. I was happy to be wrong. It's two-tone white/yellow and stamped 14k on the inside. I won't know how much it weighs until I get home to my scale.
I continued to hunt until the surf grew high enough that it was beating me up pretty good.

that's one of the things about this hobby I love the most,,,,every gold feels the same,,,,I found one almost exactly like that a couple months ago,,,,bet it ends up weighing around 8 to 9 gs,,,,cha ching,,,,GL HH
