Drained lakes and lucky people who get to detect them.
Congradulations on the gold. Lucky you having a lake area that gets drained for winter. Up here in Michigan they don't seem to do that. One lake years ago got drained but I wasn't there for it. I was told of all the class rings and other rings found. They were cleaning the lake of unwanted fish or something. Mom years ago tole me it was a man dug lake. Wonder what it was like walking across that lake bed metal detecting. I was also told there were just holes here and there of water left for them to put good fish into. I did find some very old coins at the (then public beach) one end under the old trees.
