I just moved back to my home state of Texas, Lago Vista, to be exact. I'm 20 minutes from Leander, 40 from Georgetown, 30 from Marble Falls. I've been hunting on and off for 30 years now. My interests are old coin, relics, shallow water hunting. I'd drive 2 hours one way to hunt if need be, thanks.

Welcome. I’m new to the hobby, and in the process of deciding on what detector to buy. I’m in Helotes, on the northwest edge of San Antonio. Once I have a detector, I’d be interested in doing some hunting. My interests are coins and relics as well.

Strider, where so you hunt in San Antonio? I know the city has a permit for certain city parks. Any tips on locations? Have you tried curb strips, or have you gotten any permissions for private property? As a newbie, I'm a little unsure about where to go at this point.

Now i need to hurry up and buy a detector so I can get out there too!
