Default where to dig silver coins?

I am a coin collector, and metal detectorist. IN my first year of the hobby I have found a two cent piece(and countless pulltabs), but never a silver coin! a 2 cent is more exiting, but I need some searching options for silver coins.
Does anyone have advice on the types of places to maximize my chances of finding silver coins?

I do well in Park strips (with old trees) adjacent to churches, apartment complexes, old businesses etc. Good hunting!

Silver is where you find it. Focus on areas with activity pre-dating 1964.

Was there something eye popping and mind blowing I missed in this thread?

There WILL be if you'd just tell the OP where to find something to put here

You should search for them only where they are. I can tell you exactly where they arent, so do as I say, not as I do.

No one has mentioned it yet, but what detector are you using? Maybe unknowingly you are using less than ideal settings. Let us know what you've got and I'm sure many here can guide you to the settings that will get you in that silver butter zone!

Default silver coins

Keep searching, 1842 house, if only one silver coin was lost every 5 years that would be 35 silvers. Good luck HH Jerry

When ever I see a parking lot or sidewalks torn out I follow the dump trucks and see where they dump. This has paid off for me many times.

You mean the trucks with the big sign on the back that says Do Not Follow? Haha!

I have question related to this thread: will using headphones help find deeper targets - including silver - buy allowing you to hear softer, quieter signals that you may miss with the speaker?

I see no one answered you on the head phones. It depends on how your detector is setup. I always use head phones because it keeps outside noise form masking the tones. Also if you operate in an all metal mode you may only get a whisper of a signal on real deep items.

I am using a T2 and one of the ways this detector and some other Fishers can operate in certain tone modes on discrimination, is that it will sound all tones the same level. I have to go to different mode on tones to get the tones to sound different based on depth. But I still use head phones because I find the speaker to hard to hear well.
