Picked up this pouch at the flea market

]I paid a $1.00 for it. Not sure what originally went in it. The only thing wrong is on the back there is a black spot of something that leaked and made the leather hard. I figured for a buck it is worth it. Not sure what I would use it for but I know its going to get a use when I dectect.
Any suggestions on how to remove that black stuff.

Here's what it is...

It's a holder for a set of pruning shears.

Interestingly enough, it may be for a model of pruning shears called the F-2, coincidental?

It could hold your toothbrush! Dental hygiene is very important, even when metal detecting! :laughing:

They are also used to hold a pair of pliers/vice grips or box cutters.

I wouldn't worry about cleaning it, It is going to get used. Just slap some leather conditioner on it.

I use a hammer holder like this for my lesche. Works great!

I use the DD sampson holder for my sampson or propointer sideways, works great
