Hey folks, these are my finds from a hunt today, with my buddy Pat. It was hot out there today, and the mosquitoes were tearing us up! We both got bit bad. We were hunting an old spot from the neighborhood. It was a 1940s ball field area, that I have pulled a nice handfull of silver from. I also have pulled a shield nickel out of here a couple of years ago. And I always wondered what that was doing in a 1940s ballfield. Maybe there was something on this site previously . Well today I was hunting a small area of grass next to the woods, and it was absolutely loaded with heavy iron. I had to go really slow with the Etrac and turn the sensitivity down. I got a nice tight dime signal at about 6 to 7 inches down. I dug the plug and pinpointed, and out popped my first Seated coin of 2014. An 1875 Seated dime. So then me and my buddy worked this small area real well, and I found a couple of time period relics, an old spoon handle, and this really old green handle to something. But then next I would find this beautiful intact crotel bell. This thing is a beauty! I also dug a wheat penny and a scholar athlete pin early at a pounded 1950s school I went to earlier. But I do believe we have found a possible 1800s homesite right inside of a 1940s ball field. Thanks for looking Everyone and HH!
