I once found a "live" cell phone on the beach. Trying to be a good sameritan, I opened up the phone, found the owners name and then looking in the address book, found a person with the same last name and called. It turned out it "Same Last Name's" brother who lost the phone. I gave him my number and told him his brother could call me to make arrangements to return the phone. When his brother called, he #1 - Couldn't come up with a thank you. #2 Asked me if I would drive it to his house twenty miles away. He actually sighed when I said no. Two weeks later, his girlfriend came to my house to pick it up. Never did get a "Thanks". So much for my "Goodwill Hunting Days".

Unfortunately all of what you've read is true. Plain and simple, if a guy with a tablet can sit on his sofa and scam people for $$$ then he will. The Internet is NOT a friendly place. If it were a neighborhood we would avoid walking thru it!

Think I'll stick to posting coins and unique artifacts from now on
