No the bottle caps sound good in discriminate mode. In all metal the head and tone of the coil will give the iron tone and negative number but as you go directly over the coil back to a good sound and positive 12 (gold range). I started just hunting in all metal (Horse shoe symbol) and I didn't dig one cap. HH, Phil
