Default Date???1796-1807 Large Cent Bust

Very shocked when I pulled this out of the ground. A bit upset that I scratched it but great find. Don't think I will be able to get a date but based on what I see I know it's somewhere between 1796-1807... Any tips on identifying with no date visible??? For some reason I cannot post more than one pic will post the back in a different post.

There are some variations on the reverse that may help for the date, ie: stemless wreath, 1/000 etc. However if the reverse is as bad, you may never know.

Oldest coin 1800 lg cent, oldest silver 1829 British sixpence, best coin 1921 standing q. in ef40, strangest find silver spoon in tree root. BOSTON STRONG
